I need to rewrite a fairy tale???

OK so i need to rewrite a fairy tale and i’m doing puss and boots. i can change a lot of things in the story but it still has to be the same story line. i can change the time, the setting and i can change the cat into a human and everything. do you have any idea on how to change it?

Try taking it a step further and setting it in the future, that way you could reverse the roles of the cat and the hero. By being futuristic, the cat could be the hero and the man could be the pet.

Gives a whole new prospective on this and lets your imagination run riot within the constraints of the story.
