I need help with my math homework!!! can you tell me how to do this?

a bicycle rental shop rents bikes for $8 per hour. the total cost c(in dollers) for renting a bike h hours is given by the function c=8h. Once you get to the rental shop, you figure youcan rent a bike for at most 5 hours. Graph the function and identify its domain and range. What is the most you will pay for renting the bike!

Ok, now it has been awhile since I have had to do a math question like this but what you do is insert values in place of h. So you start with 0 hours. c=8 x 0 and so on until you get to the maximum number of hours that you can rent the bike for (which in this case is 5). Because you can rent the bike for any amount of time upto 5 hours, the range would be from 0 to 5. To graph the function start at the $0 mark at 0 and draw a line to the $40 mark at 5 (which also happens to be the most you would pay for renting the bike because it is the longest you can rent the bike for).

the graph is a straight line passing through origin in 1st quadrant ending at h=5. the domain is {0,5} and range is {0,40} . thus the most u pay is $40.

$40 because c=8h is c=8*5

set up your graph and plug in h=1, h=2 etc…c will equal 8, 16 etc. 5 hours is 8×5. You do domain and range, im too tired.
