Usually an introduction starts out general and then gets more specific.
You could start with ” Everyone has differing characteristics that makes them who they are. These characteristics could make them helpful, shy, or many other things”
Here’s a short list of examples of being good versus bad:
Good: Honest, accepting, empathetic, hard-working
Bad: Dishonest biased, racist, disrespectful, insensitive, manipulative, opportunistic, lazy.
Now you continue this list and then use the words from it in your introduction. The bad list is easier, and I’d be willing to bet that there are a lot more words in the English language describing badness (giving you an idea?). I’d bet there are a lot more songs about being bad (Michael Jackson’s Bad comes to mind) than being good (another idea?). Even the word bad, has another positive meaning (connotative) meaning entirely. You can say the word GOOD about someone and make it sound bad. (For example, “She was just so good, that everyone hated her.”) (Is this inspiring any ideas?)
Here’s another idea:
“I was at the store the other day, and a man in front of me gave back a dollar to the clerk. She had been so busy and distracted that she didn’t realize that she had accidentally gave him too much. I wonder if everone would do that? I began to think about what it means to be a good person? I have a theory that everyone would say something different, so I decided to ask people what does it mean to be a good person. Here’s what they said.”
Then, you interview people and record, or write down what they say is a good person.
Also, if you have trouble writing introductions, then write the middle parts first. Sometimes you have to discover what you’re thinking by putting it out there. Then put clothes on it and dress it up.
Google brainstorming in writing
a must.
Everybody has different characteristics. Some may be fat, short, tall, thin, or smart or not so smart. Everybody has some good and some bad characteristics.
So, what are good characteristics in someone whom you have just met or recently met…………
end by writing why you chose these characteristics
