I’m so FRUSTRATED & I NEED YOUR HELP!!>>>?

I need help with algebra problems. The topic is solving systems using substitiution( The addition and Multiplication Methods). I need step by step help.

—–the problem is x= -2y+1 and x=y-5 ( remember that this is just one problem not two)

* Also could you send me some helpful and learning websites where I could get the help I Need. I am doing poorly in my Algebra 2 class.

okay;

x=-2y+1, where x=y-5

plug in y-5 for x

y-5=-2y+1

add five to both sides

y=-2y+6

add 2y to both sides

3y=6

you need to get y by itself, so divide by 3

y=2

plug in the y in the x=y-5

x=2-5

x=-3

so the answer is;

y=2, x=-3

Ask your teacher about math sites, i’m sure she’ll know some really good ones. also; a lot of teachers tutor after school. ask about that as well.

Hi you cuty very simple just put the value of x in other equation and get the answer

Put the valuse of X=-2y+1 in other equation, the equation will become

-2y+1=y-5

or 3y=6

y=2

so x=-2*2+1

or x=-4+1

x=-3

I want your mind should be a;so faster and beautiful like you

x = -2y + 1

x = y – 5

eq

y-5 = -2y + 1

eq

y = -2y +6

eq

y + 2y = 6

eq

3y = 6

eq

y = 2

then go back to the original equation:

x = 2 – 5

x = -3

you should always follow with a verification

x = (-2 x 2) + 1

x = -3

step by step, I hope this helps 🙂

x=-2y+1 and x=y-5

Here’s how do it by substitution:

Since both equations are equal x just equate the two.

so:

-2y+1=y-5

-2y-y=-5-1

-3y=-6

y=2

to get x.substitue y from either of your 2 original equations

like this:

x=-2y+1

x=-2(2)+1

x=-4+1

x=-3

so answers are x=-3 and y=2

Tip for you is parctice solving equations.
