I’m doing a report in history class?

Ok, we had to pick a state and tell how the hispanic race influenced that state. (I’m not trying to offend anyone) So I picked Florida. Can anyone tell me how the hispanic race influenced the Florida government?

Hispanic voters make up about 14 percent of the 11 million eligible voters in the southeastern U.S. state of Florida, a powerful political force courted by both the Republican and Democratic parties. Hispanic voters in Florida are different from Hispanic voters across the rest of the United States. In most states, a majority of Hispanics have traditionally backed the Democratic Party because of its support for immigration reform, government services and civil rights. But in Florida, a majority of Hispanic voters has long been solidly in the Republican camp.

You might want to try looking into the city of Miami ‘s hispanic population. During the overuling of Fidel Castro many Cubans fled to the southern part of Florida. A famous person that is an example of this is Desi Arnaz of I Love Lucy. His dad was like the mayor of Santiago Cuba, but when Castro took over he burnt down Desi’s family’s land and held his dad in prison. Desi and the rest of his family escaped to Florida
