I forgot how to solve this math problem… Help?
I know how to do quadratic equations, but get a negative in there and I get so messed up. So, the question is y = -10x^2 + 20x + 5.
If you could just help me with the first step or two, I could probably do the rest.

use the quadratic equation =P
y = -b +- sqrt(b^2 – 4ac)
_______________
2a
where a = -10, b = 20, and c = 5

factor out a negative five first and it will be easier
so it becomes like y= (-5)(2x^2 – 4x -1) and use a=2, b=-4, c=-1
but are you trying to solve for the zeros? because that is just an equation and doesnt really need any solving
if you meant 0= -10x^2 + 20 +5
your answer for 0=2x^2 – 4x -1 will be the same as the original equation since anything multiplied by 0 is still 0
