I don’t understand how to do this?

It says find the value of “s” in the interval [0, pi/2] that makes the following statement true:

sec “s” = 4.1924229

I know the value should be between 0-90 degrees, but how do I solve this?

sec x is reciprocaal of 1/cos x

when sec s = 4.1924229

1/cos s = 4.1924229

cos s =1/4.1924229

s= cos^ -1 (1/4.1924229)

from calculator s= 76.2

since the range given in pi change 76.2 to radius

76.2 x (pi/180) = 0.423 pi

range is from 0- 0.5 pi

thus 0.423pi is still in the range

ans: 0.423 pi

n you are right the value is between 0-90 degree

that is 76.2
