Methamphetamine is a powerful, highly addictive drug which totally devastates families. The majority of crimes committed in the US are by people under it’s influence or seeking ways to obtain money to buy more. I have seen it totally destroy countless people in my small, mountain community. Thousands upon thousands of children end up in foster care because of this drug!

There’s a couple things about meth, specifically, that makes it pretty nasty. It’s highly addictive, but unlike many other highly addictive drugs, there is no physical treatment available, and it has the lowest recovery rate as a result (I think something like only 7% don’t relapse). Another thing about meth is it is fairly easy to make and is made out of legal substances that people can buy in stores – basically there’s tons of meth labs out there, a lot of which have children around.

Basically, if you have children, and you’re addicted, you’re not going to be thinking about your kids, your job, cleaning your house, etc, you’re going to be thinking about the next time you get high, and everyone around you suffers because of that.

Just google “methamphetamine statistics” for the numbers.

I don’t know any sites but I do know how it can hurt a person finacially. If you were caught with meth or with the usage of meth you could get a D.U.I (Driving Under the Influence) which will cost you money. I’m not sure in other states but with all the fines it’s you have to pay it’s a minimum of $1,000, not only that with a possession charge you could lose your job and it might be hard to get other jobs with it on your record. If you want you go to your local courthouse or a Department of Public Safety (DPS) to get all the fines and expenses of a possession charge in your area. Good Luck!

It ruins their lives and the lives of those around them. I knew a guy who was left a large inheritance, he wouldn’t tell me out of shame. Shame because he blew it all in a few years on meth and partying. He started meth at 15 and did it for 11 years. At 26 he had the mind and physical appearance of a 15 year old. For 11 years there was no mental development and so he’s got a lot of catching up to do. He doesn’t know the meaning of a lot of words, his frontal lobe in his brain is damaged and he makes bad decisions. He has no concept of cause and effect. And he has no clue what’s going on around him most of the time. Now he’s working a dead end job, living in a condemnable apartment infested with rats and roaches, driving a car that’s about to disintegrate and is hooked on a new drug, anti-depressants. Lovely. Also, his wife was on meth and tortured animals. Kittens! She tortured and dismembered kittens! This drug is satan in a bag/needle. Stay away from it!!!!! Is LTD mocking me down there? Could be the guy was alwaysof low intelligence who made bad decisions. I’m not a neurologist!

It Does.

Drugs (if your caught) will make you owe up to 100,000 to the state.
