I think this meant he could be poor or a farmer.
Can’t start the sentence with “he”…

This made me think that he was either poor or a farmer.

I assumed he was either a farmer or unwealthy.
I was given the impression he was poor, . . . or a farmer.
. . . it’s a strange question. . . may be easier to answer with an answer you want if the previous sentance had been included.
