y – y1 = m(x – x1)

y -0 = (-3/4)(x – -2)

y = (-3/4)(x + 2)

y = (-3/4)x -6/4

4y = -3x -6

3x +4y + 6 = 0

The equation of a line is written in the form y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is they-intercept.

Substitute the slope in the equation……y = -3/4x + b

You have a value of x and y in your point so substitute that in the equation…….0 = -3/4(-2) + b. Now all you have to do is solve for b.

0 = 6/4 + b

-6/4 = b – 6/4 reduces to -3/2 which s the y-intercept.

Plug everything in y = -3/4x – 3/2
