HOW SHOULD I Start MY ESSAY!/? Thx!?
I have to write an essay that talks about high and low self esteem. I have to choose if I favor high or low self esteem. My teacher says whatever we choose (low in my case) that we have to begin talking about the opposite (the highs) to bring in attention to those who don’t favor the low self esteem people. Basically I am going to say that highs can be cocky and arrogant, and they can be too over confident, and lows can be better bc they tend to study more bc they don’t belive in them selves as much…etc.etc.etc… anyway, can you help me start with a few opening sentences, I don’t know how to open my essay..THANK YOU!

You can start by saying:
Each person’s self-esteem becomes his or her social foundation.
How one is perceived depends on the person’s presentation of oneself.
— I can’t think right now, but first think general then sentence by sentence go deeper and more specific until you get to the point where the reader starts to disagree wtih what your saying.. this way you can present your arguement more effectively
BTW I disagree with starting an essay with your thesis followed by your three points. You should first try to get the reader’s attention and leave your thesis and main points in the middle or near end of your introduction

Well you should always start your essay off with a Thesis statement like “Self-Esteem can temporarily or permanently damage your life, ” and then you carry on your three points and then end with of course a conclusion.
