How do you formulate a hypothesis?
I am having trouble with formulating hypothesis. Examples please? I am like doing a history assignment on Australian history post 1945 to present.

its a tentative answer to a research problem. it may or may not be correct.
one possible hypothesis on that topic is: “Right after World War II Australia pursued a non-aligned stand in international affairs and maintained friendly relations with both the East and the West.”
You see, the statement may or may not be correct. The final answer would depend on your research findings. But of course it’s still the best if your hypothesis would turn out to be correct in the end after all.

Hypothesis is just another word for cause and effect. But you have to guess it. Like:
If the rain does not fall, then maybe there will be a drought.
If we pollute the ocean, then maybe, after 50 years, Pfiesteria Piscicida shall grow to nearly 50% it’s normal size.
You have to put a ” maybe ”
