How do you find the area of an isoscleles triangle?

base x height= that number and divide by 2

The area of any triangle is 1/2 base x height, but you do not always have the height, which MUST be perpendicular to the base. It depends greatly on what you are given and so forth. If this is a trig class, and you know the angles you can find the height using tangent. If you know all three sides, you can find the area using Hero’s formula.

The area of an isosceles triangle is
(i) 1/2*base*height.
(ii) 1/4*base*sq. root (4a²-b²)
Here height of the triangle is [sq. root (4a²-b²)]/2
Note: ‘a’ is each of the equal side, ‘b’ is the unequal side or the base
