The equation of a line in slope intercept form is as follows:

y=mx+b

where m is the slope and b is the y intercept. You already have the slope and a value for y and x. If you plug in those three values you can solve for b. Then you have the equation of your line. Steps are as follows:

y=mx+b

y=(7/3)x+b

11=(7/3)*3 + b

11=7+b

4=b

Then plug back in:

y=(7/3)x +4

Hope this helps.

The equation you are looking to find is what is known as a linear equation of the form

y = m x + c equ. (1),

where m is the slope of the line (given as 7/3)

and c is the y-intercept (the point at which the line will cross the y-axis),

so adding your data to equation (1) gives:-

y = (7x)/3 + c equ.(2),

you now need to find c to fully define the equation. We known the line passes through (3,11) or (x = 3, y = 11). So if you know insert these values of x and y into equ. (2) and then rearrange to find c, you will have your equation.

Hope this helps 🙂 (I make it 4)
