multiplication addition algorithm. thats the easiest way. substitution would work but thats hard. just add the equations. for the first set you get 4=8x and solve. the second 9y= -18 and solve. easy.

Okay. The very first thing you do is make y=, or x=.

-3x=y+6

5x=-y-10

then you try to make it so one of the variables cancel. The y’s already cancel, because a y minus a y cancels. But for example, if it was a -2y and a y, you would multiply the whole equation with a y by 2. the 2y and the -2y would cancel.

-3x=6

5x=-10.

solve for x

x= -2

x= -2

You pay attention in class…then if you don’t understand it you ask your teacher for help….going on the internet and looking for someone to tell you the answer will get you no where except flipping burgers at McDonald’s…

EDIT: For your info I worked at McDonald’s in high school, but it is not something I would have wanted to be stuck doing forever. I studied hard in school and now have a much better job then that. And people love me.. I am actually pretty nice…I just don’t think asking for the answer is going to help.

Lots of people flip burgers at McD’s and they’re not all morons. Try not to be such an elitist. I wonder what you do for work. You’re probably the kind of person who gets spit and snot in her food because everyone hates you so much.

you need to solve for a variable. try solving each equation for y
