Factor out a (-16), this leaves you with:

(-16) (t^2 – 3t – 40)

Now it looks much easier to handle, eh?

(t^2 – 3t – 40) = (t – 8) (t + 5)

So, the factors are:

(-16) (t – 8) (t + 5)

Make the numbers not quite soooo big by factoring out the GCF from all of those terms. I’ll give you a hint… are all of those numbers divisible by 16?

Then, you’ll end up with a much more manageable factoring problem….although I don’t think it can be factored beyond that first step. Not sure.
