how did my understanding change after reading Prince and the pauper?

I have to write a 750-1000 word essay on the prince and the pauper. My prompt is: “how is my understanding different after having read this book?” I have no ideas seeing as the book didn’t change my understaning about anything. Any ideas will help

As I see it, you have two choices. One is to try to figure out what your teacher wants, and your clues are the in-class discussions. What kind of understanding did he expect you to get out of the book? And take it from there.

The other option is the simple truth – tell him that your understanding didn’t change at all. Again, you’ll have to figure out what kind of understanding change the teacher was expecting, then explain why the book didn’t change your understanding at all.

Cynical as it sounds, it’s something I found true in every literature class I ever took. The best way to do well is to spend the first couple of weeks studying the teacher.

The book is about understanding a different point of view, or seeing what it’s like to live another person’s life.

Imagine swapping places with someone who looks just like you and pretending you are them.

This book went a step further in that they had almost completely opposite ways of living. One was rich and one was poor.

Does that help? You really should read the book if you haven’t. It’s worth it.

The only way that book wouldn’t change your understanding about anything is if you didn’t read it. Read the book to the best of your ability (get some help if necessary, someone to read to you) and come back later…
