How can I rewrite this sentence to sound better?
I am trying to answer these questions but my sentences seem to wordy to me. This sentence doesn’t sound right but thats the best wording I could do. Help? thanks

You are correct, the sentence is ‘too wordy.’ Try ‘removing’ all of the ‘extraneous’ words … make is ‘shorter’ and more ‘to the point’ … The water pump scene explained the meaning of the ‘words’ in Helen’s mind. Presumably you are writing a ‘paper’ and not just a single sentence, so if you do this ‘trimming’ within all of your sentences, and do it ‘properly’ you’ll have a ‘shorter’ paper that is ‘easier to read and understand.’ Right now you are ‘like Helen’ … you can’t ‘truly understand’ the words … keep ‘trimming’ and the ‘meaning’ will start to come through.
