homework help – Sistine chapel ceiling?
ok so i have to critique the painted ceiling of the Sistine Chapel by Michaelangelo. a couple of questions that i cant find:
1) where is the Sistine chapel located.
its in the vatican city, right? just making sure.
2)Why is this piece of artwork considered to be part of the Renaissance time period?
3) Overall, how would you explain this artwork?

All the existing paintings around the walls of the chapel were done by the most famous Renaissance painters Perugino, Botticelli, and Ghirlandio. Those paintings were of the The Life of Christ and the Life of Moses.
The central part of the ceiling include paintings from the Book of Genesis – God creating Heaven and Earth, God creating Man and Woman (Adam and Eve) and the plight of Humanity.
