A polysaccharide is a multi-sugar, like starch. A human uses starch for energy after breaking it down. Humans break starch into maltose, a disaccharide, or double sugar. This still cannot be used, so it is broken down again into glucoses, which are monosaccharides. Then, the glucoses are used for energy.

Look on Wikipedia or Merriam Webster for the monomers question- I don”t know that one.
