The tropical region is the latitudes that are close enough to the equator that they are always in direct line with the sun even when the tilt of the earth on its axis moves from one extreme to the other. So the TEMPERATURE and weather doesn’t fluctuate with the seasons of the year as it does when you are further away from the equator. Instead you have the same hot (tropical) weather all year long. And day and night are always roughly the same length.

Contrast this with Europe and North America, where you have great differences between summer and winter temperatures and the days get longer and shorter as the tilt of the earth moves. Where do you hear about people living through “the rainy season?” In places like India (near the equator) and Equatorial Africa.
