Hi. I need help with exponents.?
So I’m studying for a graduate exam coming up next week and I run into this problem below. I know it should be really easy but I can’t figure it out. If you happen to know the rules when it comes to adding or multiplying number with exponents that same different bases that would help too. Thanks!
5^11 * 4 ^10 = 2 x 10^n Please help solve for n.

I hope you wrote this correctly, because while solving it’s a bit more complicated than it should be.
Anyway, since you can’t add the exponents since the bases are different, you’ll actually have to evaluate:
5^11 * 4^10 = 2(10^n)
48828125 * 1048576 = 2(10^n)
51200000000000 = 2(10^n)
25600000000000 = 10^n
log(2560000000000) = log(10^n)
13.7093 = n
