Help! y+y+2=18?
Favorite Answer
combine like terms
2y+2=18
-18 -18
subtract 18 from each side
2y+(-16)=0 or 2y-16=0
+16 +16
now add 16 to each side
2y=16
/2 /2
now divide each side by 2
y=8
the answer is y=8
and that is how you do that problem
i know that and im in 9th grade
you look older than me so i
hope you were just asking to see if
ppl could do it to to rly find the answer
2y+2 = 18
2y+2-2=18-2
2y=16
2y/2=16/2
y=8
because…
8+8+2=18
Subtract 2 from both sides to get
2y=16
Divide both sides by the coefficient of y and get
y=8
y=8
