Help with math?

A television station plays 3 songs and 4 commercials every 20 minutes. For one 20 minute segment the director chooses three different songs to be played and the producer chooses four different commercials. The producer then decides that the order will be song, commercial, two songs, three commercials. How many possible arrangements are there for this 20 minute segment.

3 songs (abc) and 4 commercials (defg). How many ways can we mix up “abcdefg”

We could have bcdefga or cdefgab, etc etc.

This problem 7 long or 20 long is solved with factorials and Permutations. The short solution is 7*6*5*4*3*2*1 = 5040. Its a big number for only seven options. But the answer would be 4*3*2*1 = 24 if we only had 4 slots within that same timeframe. The complexity grows VERY quickly.
