is a good site where you can learn algebra from the basics

1. -9x^2 + 12x – 4

To factor this expression, first you have to determine the factors of the first and the last terms (9x^2 and 4)

9x^2 = 3x and 3x

4 = 2 and 2

Then combine them, but you have to consider the sign of 9x^2 and the middle term (12x).

Thus,

(-3x + 2) (3x-2)

-3x + 2 = 0

-3x = -2

x = 2/3

3x -2 = 0

3x = 2

x = 2/3

2. x^2 = 3x

Divide both terms by x (since it is their common factor)

Thus,

x = 3

0
