If two different scientific methods are supposed to give equivalent results but do not when you perform the experiment. What should your next step be to solve the experimental problem?
Thanks!!!

The first thing is to do it again. Then verify that you have the correct type and grade of chemicals. Some analysis requires a specific grade or quality of chemical. Then check your conditions. Temp, time, humidity and pressures. Since I don’t know the type of work you are doing I cant be very specific. All these things can have dramatic impact on test results. If you have confirmed methods that have been demonstrated in lab conditions before. They should be repeatable, provided that ALL conditions are the same. This would include glassware cleanliness, (no contamination) and any substrates required must be properly conditioned. There is usually a wrong chemical (quality), missed step or a condition not met, assuming you have an accepted proven method.

Two things
1) You may not have performed the experiment correctly.Do it again with all the parameters controlled as required.
2) Eureka.. you may have discovered something new.
