ok i am doing these stuff in geometry and its kinda weird so can you guys help me??

this is the directions

as in:

1) Equilateral triangles are defined as triangles with 3 equal sides, so some triangles must have 2 or more equal sides.

2) Some birds are pets, birds aren’t cats or dogs, so not all pets are cats and dogs

Just think of an example that disproves it, and say why it disproves it.

I think you’re making it way too hard. Can you draw a triangle with two sides of the same length? I can. Look at the exponent sign on the 6 on the keyboard. Add a line to the bottom and it has two sides of the same length (at the top) and it’s a triangle. As far as cats and dogs go – we have a fish that’s a pet so not ALL pets are cats and dogs!

1. An isosceles triangle has two sides of the same length. Ex: a triangle with sides 5 cm, 5 cm, and 6 cm

2. A goldfish is a pet. (this proves that all pets are not cats and dogs.)

1. Isosceles triangles by definition have at least 2 equal sides.

2. A person could have a guinea pig (for example) as a pet.

Basically, you just have to prove the conjecture wrong.

Good luck.

1. triangles with two sides are called isosceles triangles.

2. any domesticated or tamed animal that is kept as a companion and cared for affectionately (i.e. fish, rabbit, etc.)

Give an example that makes each statement untrue/ Give an example of the opposite.

Like, if your phrase was “All sodas are made by Pepsi.” You could disprove is by giving an example of a non-Pepsi soda, such as Coca-Cola.

🙂 Got it?

i think for number 2 it would be cat and dogs are always pets…….i think thats what i did in geometry, but it was two years ago so hard to remember.
