Let s be the required distance (units unspecified), and t hours be the time the second train takes to complete the journey.

The total distance covered by the first train is:

s = 22.5 * (2.75 + t + 1.5) …….(1)

The total distance covered by the second train is:

s = 85.5 * t ….(2)

Therefore:

22.5 * (2.75 + t + 1.5) = 85.5 * t

22.5 * 4.25 + 22.5t = 85.5t

95.625 = 63t

t = 95.625 / 63

= 1.518hr.

From (2):

s = 85.5 * 1.518 = 129.78 (units unspecified).
