i have to explain this:

a. “thus was his (monk’s) holiness made manifest”.

b. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

just one to two sentences only… these are from anatole farance’s our lady’s juggler..

a) It means that (this) shows it was apparent that the monk was a holy man.

b) People who are pure in heart (truly good) will be blessed by God.
