hellppp meee!!?

On a nocturnal owl’s skull, one ear points up, and the other ear points down. Suggest a hypothesis for this observation.

Help please!

I would think that one ear points up to protect its self from other predator birds. Whereas;one ear points down for hunting skills and can pin point dection of say a small mouse in the tallest of grass as owls hunt by waves of movement in the sound barrier. hope this helps.

The ear closest to the noise is pointing up, the other ear is pointing down to avoid hearing anything other than the first noise?

Perhaps the owl heard a noise which then raised one ear to try and listen.

Owls have large forward-facing eyes and ears. Sounds like a deformity, either congenital or perhaps through an injury.
