Grammer Question…?
I need some help with the correct way to write this phrase.
The Woods (this is what we called a place in a pasture..)
Which of the following is grammatically correct:
a. the woods
b. The Woods
c. “the woods”
d. “The Woods”
e. (your suggestions)
Basically, I need to know if I need to place quotation marks around the phrase or not, and if i need to capitalize the phrase.
Thanks for your help! 🙂

i think, as long as somewhere in your paragraph you explain that The Woods is a specific location (thus a proper noun), than it should be Capitalized.
If you sure it in a sentence like: There is a place in the middle of the pasture that the locals call “The Woods”…. (Yeah, that goes in quotes, but if you use it like in the first paragraph, i’d just be Capped)

I would go with (b). It is a specific place and should be capitalized, but no quotation marks seem necessary.
