Geometry question !?!?

Okay, I need help with my geometry homework and I need to know the difference between Inverse, Converse, and Contrapositive!

My teacher is horrible and I don’t get it at all!

I need help really bad.

Would you help me and give me 2 examples for each one (inverse, converse, and contrapositive) and tell me the difference between them please?!

Thanks in advance.

statement: if a, then b.

converse: if b, then a.

inverse: if not a, then not b.

contrapositive: if not b, then not a.

statement: if x=y, then ax=ay.

converse: if ax=ay, then x=y.

inverse: if x not = y, then ax not = ay.

contrapositive: if ax not = ay, then x not = y.

for the converse of a statement just switch the hypothesis with the conclusion.

for inverse, keep the statement the same just put not in front of both hypothesis and conclusion.

the contrapositive is the converse of the inverse.

hope i helped!
