Hopefully you understand what a conjecture is. Is is merely a statement for all intended purposes. Can you think of a triangle that has two side of the same length? An isosceles triangle has two sides of the same length. This statement is a counterexample that disproves your conjecture. Now the second one. All pets are cats and dogs. Do you have any pet that is not a cat or a dog? What about a bird, turtle, guinea pig, horse, etc. Your statement could be John has a pet snake. Good Luck.
