There are six sides to a cube, and each is 10 in x 10 in, so our total area is:

6 * 10in *10in = 600in^2 (in^2 means square inches)

But we know that 12in x 12in = 1ft x 1ft, or

144in^2 = 1ft^2 (ft^2 means square feet)

So, our units converter is 144in^2/ft^2

So if we take (600in^2)/(144in^2/ft^2), and remember that units in the nested denominator of a fraction get flipped to the numerator like numbers do, we get 4.17 ft^2
