The values of x that would make the denominators zero would be x=0.

To solve x – 6/(3x) + 2 = x + 8/x, first multiply through by the common denominator which is 3x.

3x^2 – 6 = 3x^2 + 24 This is not possible as you would get -6=24!!!! I’m thinking you must have left off some ().

Is it:

(x-6)/(3x+2) = (x+8)/x ??? If so, x = -2/3 also makes denominator zero. And to solve, multiply by x(3x+2):

x(x-6) = (x+8)(3x+2)

x^2 – 6x = 3x^2 +26x +16

2x^2 + 32x + 16 = 0

x^2 + 16 x + 8 = 0 Errr . . . this gives you complex answers. Well, I don’t know where the () should be in your problem, but neither of these works and I give up!
