A boat takes 2 hrs longer to go 45 miles up a river than to return. If the boat’s speed is in still water is 12 miles per hour,what is the rate of the current?
do you use the formula rate=distance/time?
and would the equation look like this
x-45/2=12

12=45/x x=3.75
y=45/x+2 y= 45/ (3.75)+2
y=45/ 5.75 y=7.83
