1) Altitude creates a right triangle with hypothenuse = 13, and one leg = 1/2 base = 5. So 13^2 – 5^2 = h^2, and 144 = h^2. so h = 12

2) Square root of a negative number is imaginary — irrational, but not in the real number system.

4) assume you mean sqrt(9/16) = +/- 3/4

5) this is the cube root of 1/64, and = 1/4
