Does the TI-83 Plus graphing calculator also have scientific capabilities?

I need a scientific calculator for geometry and I have a graphing, but I want to know if I could still use it for scientific purposes.

Yes. I myself have a TI-84 plus, but my friend has a TI-83, and hers has scientific capabilities. Really, the only difference between the two is that the TI-84 plus has more memory. They should both have the same capabilities though.

Scientific calculators can do some of the things that graphing calculators can, but very few (e.g., trig functions, etc.) Graphing calculators can do many more things with equations, statistical data, graphs, and even calculus derivatives and integrals. however, they usually cost about $100 dollars, where you can get a scientific calculator for like $15 I would recommend just getting a graphing calculator now. They are extremely helpful and often required as soon as you get past geometry, so I would go ahead and get one now if you plan on continuing in math. Hope this helped!
