The problems that occur in the book. For example, if you are reading a book where the main character wants to play on the basketball team, but doesn;t make the team, that is a conflict.

There are different types of conflicts:

Man vs. Man- conflict between people

Man vs. Nature- just like sounds, a person against nature

Man vs. God- person against Fate, God, etc.

Man vs. Self- internal conflict, such as a tough decision to make

There can be more than one of these conflicts in the same book. Hope I helped!

I’m not quite sure what you mean…

It could be conflicts between characters, internal character conflinct, anything that stands in the way of the characters and their goals, etc. Possibly even all of the above.

There are four basic types of conflict in literature: man vs. man, man vs. himself, man vs. nature, and man vs. God.

Conflict exists when two people (or two groups of people) want or believe different things, and this causes a clash between them. Or it exists when one person wants two different things and is torn between them.

Conflict shows character, shapes plot, is reflected in setting and mood, and determines theme.
