does anyone know how to do rationalization and finding the restriction? can someone please tell me.?
i know how to factor the number and all that, but after i factor the question i’m not sure what to write for the restriction.

The restriction(s) come from the fact that we cannot ever divide by zero. So anything that would make any denominator in the original equation be equal to zero have to be thrown out as impossibilities.
For example, if
3/x + (2x-1)/(x+2) = 3
then the restrictions are x is not 0 since that would make the first fraction have a denominator of 0
and x is not -2 since that would make the second fraction have a denominator of 0.
So even something that appears to be an identity, like
(x-3)/(x-3) = 1 has the restriction that x is not 3.
Otherwise, we could plug it in to get 0/0 = 1, which is not necessarily the case.
