I had to memorize it when I was in the 8th grade. The way I learned it was to take it line by line. Memorize the first few lines: When in the course of human events. Keep repeating it, until you have that, then add the next few lines. When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people. Anyway, keep going like that, adding a little at a time. It might also help to have a mirror handy to help memorize. This also helped when I had to quote “Friends, Romans, Countrymen” from Julius Caeser. Another way (but harder, too, and more difficult), might be to write the lines over and over, but, like I said, it’s harder and not quite as fun. You might could also ask your teacher if he/she has any ideas on how to memorize the lines, if they have any insight on what previous students did.

Another idea that some friends of mine did was print it on cue cards and read those everyday out loud. Also, to test yourself on it, get a friend to listen to you as you recite it and let you know what you missed, if you missed anything. I hope this helps you out and good luck.

The best way is through a song. I know they sell CD’s of it in song form. Maybe your parents would pay for it. You can also do a search and see if you can find it online for free.
