Two jets leave an airport at the same time in opposite directions. The first jet is traveling at three hundred twenty-three mph and the other at two hundred mph. How long will it take for the jets to be 2,371 miles apart?

in one hour the distance between them is 523miles
therefore for 2371miles, divide 2371 by 523 to give uou 4.533hours or 4 hours and 32mins

I think it depends on how you measure the distance. Since the planes wil be flying over the curved surface of the earth, then the straight line distance between them (measured in the air) will be less than the distance of their relative points on the arc of the earth.

It also may depend on whether they are travelling across a line closer to the equator or more northerly or southerly.
and are you talking nautical miles, which is what air travel may be measured in?
Also, does either plane have a head wind or tail wind?
