Could I use size 14 font using MLA format?

I have to do a term paper for one of my classes. My teacher says I can use any format to type the paper. He did not specify what size font.

Well if he wants it in MLA format then you need to do size 12. Thats what font MLA handbook requires. I wouldn’t recommend using size 14. My teacher followed the MLA format religiously and if you typed in the wrong font or anything we got points deducted.

Heres a tip for a longer paper – make every period size 14 font (if the rest is size 12). It can add alot of length to your paper and can’t be noticed unless you are specifically looking for it.

I don’t know if you’re in h.s. or college, but my advice is to use no smaller than 10 and no larger that 12. Size 8 is too small to read (especially if the prof has 40 papers to grade!) and 14 will make it look like you are trying to add length to the paper w/o actually writing more.

That’s not really recommended. Most teachers would expect you to use size 12 font. Though I don’t recommend it, it would probably be less obvious if you made slight changes to the spacing or borders.
