converting metric units of measurement?
6.0 kilometers= meters… how do you do that..i got 6,000 meters for an answer..is this right…i also did 6.1 mL= 0.61 L. then i did 3.0 dekameters=30 meters…are these right?

kilo means thousand so 6 “kilo”metres is 6 thousand metres. Milli means thousandth. So 6.1 mL is 6.1 thousandths of a litre (0.0061 L). Deka means ten so 3.0 dekametres is 3 tens of a metre or 30 metres. A lot easier than figuring out how many miles 6000 feet are, eh?

6.0 kilometers is 6000 because you move the decimal point two three places to the right.
6.1ml = 0.0061 because you are moving the decimal point 3 places to the left.
3.0dkm is 30meters
