i always read the text book but i can never seem to remember the material and plus its kinda hard to focus sometimes.

well, what I used to do was read the chapter once. After attending lecture, I will go back to the chapter and highlight the topics on which instructor spend the most time. Second time when you Read a chapter, it makes more sense. First time, some topics don’t sink in or don’t make sense. I also ask the instructor if he gives everything in the exam or he likes to just stick to his lecture topics. Some instructors trick you and give you test outside the study guide.
Basically you read the chapter at least twice and read one more time before the test. Try not to memorize everything. Concepts that need understanding, Read them carefully and understand them well.

Try to study a little bit every night, even if it’s just for 15 minutes. The repetition makes it easier to retain information. Also, try taking notes of key terms and important concepts as you read.

well in order to focus you have to increase your attention span if you actually start focusing then reading the text book sould help

this sounds dumb…but make up songs!i do it alot and it really helps!they dont even have to make sense…make learning the stuff fun!(okay…that sounds corny…but im serious!)
