OK you’re given three numbers; 1776 steps, approximately 8000 people and usually over 500,000 dollars. a and b ask which of the three are exact numbers and which are estimates. c is a division problem. Divide the total money raised by the number of prople. d is a little more complex to find out how long michael will take to climb the tower you need to know any two of the 3 variables in the distance/speed/time formula (distance divided by speed equals time) You know the distance–1776 steps–and speed–two steps per second (they didn’t give you that, you had to do that on your own: 8 steps in 4 seconds–divide both numbers by 4 snd you get 2 steps in one second) 1776 divided by 2 is 888 seconds. To solve for minutes divide 888 seconds by 60 for 14.8 minutes.

believe it or not this kind of question trips up more adults than you would think.

a and b am not really sure about what its asking but c u can take the amount of money and divide it by the number of people which is 500,000/8000 = $62.50 for d) take the number of steps divide it by the number of steps he did in 4s to find how many seconds he did for the whole thing.. which is 1776/8 = 222 s and take that then multiply it by 4 to get the total number of seconds 222 * 4 = 888 seconds now take that and divide by 60 to get number of minutes which is 888/60 = 14.8 minutes k
