Asthmatics should use dust covers on their sheets, duvets and pillows, they should have a wooden floor, dust regularly
they should have blinds instead of curtains. They should not leave out their clothes they should be clean dry and in a closet/drawer. They should also not have any pets in their room. basically they should not be exposed to dust and should stay away from any redecorating.

Always put things in their place. Make sure everything has a place and when you are finished using it (whatever it is) you put it back in its place. This prevents the need to tidy. Instead it just stays that way.
I would also wear a mask while dusting.
