· Be sure your hero/heroine does something that benefits others, not just himself/herself

· Use the elements of an epic present in Beowulf as a guide

· Include the hero’s problem, what he does to solve it, and the result of his solving the problem

· Write 3 paragraphs (minimum) to 2 pages (maximum)

· Correct all spelling, grammar and punctuation errors

For example, if you decide to write only three paragraphs, use this basic format:

1st paragraph–introduce your hero or heroine and establish the problem (evil that must be defeated)

2nd paragraph–provide incidents that show how the hero/heroine battles that problem/evil

3rd paragraph–provide a resolution/victory and show how the hero/heroine is treated by those he/she has saved.
