Ha, I remember a similar question for homework. Use your brain, it’s not that hard to figure out. Maybe instead of ship, think of it as, “A dirt bike in the garage is safe, but sitting in the garage is not what it was intended for.”

A ship is made for sailing, which is a bit dangerous. Sitting in port is safe, but that’s not why you built the ship. It was built to sail.

In investing and business, you can try to do the safest things possible to limit your risks, but the point of investing or operating a business is to make money. Making money requires taking risks.

hope that helps.

You could relate it to a friend by saying something like:

You can stay with the same friends that you have been friends with forever, but you may be missing out on other friends if you don’t get out in the world and make new friends.

Business:

You can open a business in an area where your service is popular. However if you want to grow your business and expand you have to take a step out into the unknown and open branches in areas that may or may not be sucessful.

When your tutor speaks then just try to find some way to agree with him/her. As for what he’s asking. Well, metaphors are open to a vast array of interpretations. That’s why the manipulative and the dumb use them. They have no origional thoughts and so let the person’s own imagination do the work……

I’ve never found those who use metaphors to be trustworthy.

Good luck and remember, we get our grades for saying, ‘yes sir, no mam, three bags full sir’. I.e. we do what *ever* we’re told and we smile whilst doing it.
