Find f'(a).
f(t)=t^4 – 5t
Could someone explain to me about this problem then start it off…don’t do the whole problem just help…like a tutor would do
Thank You

f(t)=t^4 – 5t
do you mean find f ‘ (t) ?
theres no “a” in the equation
this is the formula for the shortcut to a derivative (b is a constant and n is the exponent)
f (x) = t^n- bt^n
f ‘ (x) = nt^(n-1) bnt^(n-1)….. and so on depending on how many variables you have
i dont start it off because then you would have the answer
you take the exponent of “t” and turn it into the coefficient (multiplied by any coefficients already there) and then decrease the exponent by one. Example y=x^4+2x^2
The derivative would be y’=4x^3+4x
Try it.
